A classic contrast between the warmth of the kitchen and the cold of the summit.
This is our "Wilder" Zanskar an 8-day expedition designed for those who find joy in the grit, the high passes, and the quiet magic of a shared camp meal under a billion stars.
We move beyond the popular transit routes into a Zanskar that remains beautifully unhurried. While the new 2026 asphalt ribbons attempt to tether this "Land of White Copper" to the modern world, our path purposefully deviates. We seek the dharma of the trail the places where the wind still carries the scent of juniper and the silence is heavy with history.
Terrain: 75% Off-Road (Chunky gravel, glacial silt, ancient trade paths)
Challenge: 4/5 (High altitude, big climbs, technical descents)
Start/End: Leh → Leh
Tour Dates
2026 Season Dates & Availability
Group 1: The Festival Session (The Rituals)
Dates: July 10 – July 17, 2026 The Vibe: This is Zanskar at its most vibrant. We’ve timed this departure so our arrival in the valley coincides with the Karsha Gustor Festival. You won’t just see the monastery; you’ll witness the sacred masked dances, the "Black Hat" rituals, and the spiritual energy of a kingdom coming together. It is loud, colorful, and deeply moving.

Group 2: The High Summer Session (The Green Stillness)
Dates: August 2 – August 9, 2026 The Vibe: As the festival energy settles, the valley enters its most beautiful period of quiet. The barley fields are at their absolute greenest, and the air carries a soft, high-summer warmth. This is the session for the "Slow-Travel" purist who wants to experience the "Old Soul" paths in their deepest state of calm.

Who This Is For
This isn't a trip for everyone, and we like it that way.
This is for you if:
You find a strange kind of peace in being tired, dusty, and miles away from a cell tower.
You care more about the story behind a 700-year-old manuscript than your average speed on Strava.
You’re a "confident" rider meaning you’re okay with loose gravel, bumpy descents, and the occasional hike-a-bike when the mountain wins.
You’re looking for a "shift." You want to return home feeling a little different than when you left.
This is not for you if:
You need a hot power shower and high-speed Wi-Fi every evening.
You’re looking for a smooth, paved cycling holiday (Zanskar’s roads are a conversation with the earth, and the earth is often rocky).
You aren’t comfortable with the unpredictability of the high Himalayas weather, altitude, and "mountain time" are our real guides.

Hi, I’m Sudhanshu
founder of Wildly Radical.
I started Wildly Radical as a way to bring intentionality,
slowness, and inner shift into the world of adventure.
After years of cycling through the Himalayas solo,
I realised that bikepacking is more than sport it’s a path to transformation.
Zanskar is one of the rawest, most powerful landscapes I’ve ridden through. This trip is about reconnecting with yourself, with nature, and with the edge of what you think you can do.
